BROWN SUGAR.

straight outta upstate new york, brown sugar plays something close to gang green, with their EP deporation full of killer, ultra-fuzzed riffs, ear-splittingly sloppy.

we kill for peace

in the jungles of papua new guinea, a lost battlefield has been visited for the first time in 70 years, since the battle of eora creek. off the 60-mile long kokoda trail near the village of eora creek, the battle is believed to have been pivotal in australia’s campaign against the Japanese in papau new guinea. the bodies of japanese soldiers remain where they fell, where they have decayed in solitude since 1942. various other relics were found at the site as they lay as they had been left 68 years ago, including such fan favourites as ammunition, medicine dishes, weapons, japanese rifle pits, and many, many more!
alledgedly 79 australians died and 145 were wounded, while the australian war memorial website says 99 were killed and 192 wounded, while there were 69 japanese soldiers found, including one up against a tree with his boots beside him, with many more presumably missing.

“It was as if time has stood still. We found ammunition running out in a line from the rifle that was dropped as the Japanese advanced to the rear."

fff.

life is the result of the struggle between dynamic opposites, form and chaos, substance and oblivion, light and dark, and all the infinite ethnic variations of yin and yang.

when the pendullum swings in favour of one, it eventually swings in favour of its opposite, thus the balance of the universe is maintained.

BARCADE.

came upon this place attempting to find a local arcade, but new york is close enough i guess. what used to be a metal shop was converted into a bar, housing various arcade games including such 80's classics as donkey kong, super mario bros., tetris, and several more golden oldies. located in brooklyn on 388 union avenue, not only do they have 25 beers available on draft and cask, they only stock beer from american craft breweries. i am way too boner up for this.

they also have an incredibly solid 'making of' slideshow, showing the bar as it rose from start to finish. definitely worth checking out.

WILD STYLE

At the Barbican gallery in London, 40 wild birds will play the electric guitar.

this is by far some of the coolest shit i've seen lately. really digging this, full of birds smashin' and thrashin'. not that rad, but still fairly solid.
